November 2007 | Dutch company acquires City-Residenz
interior design." "They are certainly not corporate raiders", says Degen. "A private individual who
only buys with a view to the long term is behind Gogh B.V." Speaking strictly legally, Gogh will not
be owner until Hesse has handed over the Residenz ready for occupancy and - as Degen empha-
sizes - "completely let out".
This will probably take place at the end of 2009. "A new joint-venture company, 'Massener Straße
Shopping Centre', was founded for the construction work", says Degen, who is aware of the "some-
what complicated construction". The opponents of the large-scale demolition, who reported on the
current position of their planned action for a petition for a local referendum at Agethen yesterday
evening, undoubtedly had some "very, very understandable arguments", says Degen.
"However, I think it is a very good project which will bring the town forward." Especially since there
were several interesting bidders for the approx. 2000 square metres of retail space next to Berlet
Electrical which is still free. "We still have to decide which tenants will provide the best mix."
