August 2007 | DEGEN arranges the sale of the Becker steelworks in Willich

After extensive refurbishment in 2001 and a change of use to high-quality office accommodation,
the historic property of the former Becker steelworks in Willich has been sold to an acquisition
company of the Copperfield International Immobilienvermögens- and Verwaltungs GmbH & Co.
KG, Hamburg. The seller was a private owners' association. Degen Real-Estate Consulting,
Cologne, was involved in an advisory and mediatory capacity.

The steelworks in Willich was constructed between 1908 and 1918. The site was used by engineers
of the British Army of the Rhine from 1948 to 1992. Since the withdrawal of the units, the site has been
redeveloped and transferred to commercial use. With an area of approx. 3000 sq m, the Gewerbepark
Stahlwerk Becker has since then concentrated on attracting high-grade, job-creating service, commerce
and craft businesses. In addition to traditional business sectors, the location will also cater for the
aspects of sport, leisure and culture.
