DERECO Impuls 5

As the requirements of modern shipping changed over time, London’s docks, which used to be the biggest port in the world, fell into disuse. After years of oblivion, discussions and planning, a decision was taken to convert the land into plots for residential and office development. This plan was finally put into practice in the 1980s and 1990s. Today the Docklands are among the top locations for working and living in London. Warehouses and shipyards have been refurbished, and marinas and water sports centres added.
