Organic architecture on the mediterranean sea

Back to overview
DERECO Impuls 3

The spectacular estate of Pierre Cardin – the inventor of Dior’s “New Look” and ready-to-wear clothing – near Cannes looks like an accumulation of stone bubbles. The building has twenty-four circular rooms mainly consisting of terracotta in a reddish hue typical of the nearby Esterel Mountains. The estate boasts two pools and its own amphitheatre.

The fashion designer lived and worked in these fanciful surroundings, organising unforgettable events including a legendary celebration to mark James Bond’s fortieth birthday, fashion shows and photo shoots. “Palais Bulles” was designed by Antti Lovag, an architect specialised in organic and harmonious designs.
